The excercise here, based on the YouTube video below, is to draw the reference images (black and white portraits are useful for this) in just 2 values. The idea is to force decision making around where halftones fall in a value scale. Following this excercise - I intend as suggested to increase the number of values to 3, 4, 5 etc.
For the purposes of this excercise, let's conveniently ignore the fact that my drawings don't look much like people in the reference images!
